Baby Name Generator: Tips to get the most out of this service
Before you do anything, you’re going to want to narrow down the naming possibilities. Using the gender drop-down menu, pick one of the four choices. There are the usual BOY and GIRL selections, which will only show you names associated with your selected gender. The BOTH selection will show you names that work for boys and girls, such as Kelsey, Rowan, or Alexis. Finally, the ANY selection will show you baby names for boys and girls as well as non-gendered names.
Once you have selected your gender(s), hit the GENERATE button. You’ll see eight names appear that fit your gender selection. Most names will have a description of what they mean as well as their country or language of origin. Unfortunately, some names will lack these descriptions.
If you are not thrilled by the first eight names shown, there are plenty more to see. Hit the GENERATE MORE button to refresh the list with eight more names. You can tap this button as much as you like.
As you view the lists, hit the HEART button next to those names that catch your eye. Doing so saves that name to a list you can access at any time by hitting the SAVED button at the top of the page (look for the heart icon). This list will save all your name ideas from across all our tools.
When you feel like you have a good list, visit the SAVED section and then hit DOWNLOAD. Now you have a text file with all the possible names!
